2. Expectations from the Diocese…………….

The diocese would like us to focus our breakout session on essential standards. We will need to submit two forms at the end of the session, minutes from our discussion (Would someone please volunteer to take minutes?) and the following feedback form.
Core/Essential Standards __
Where are we? What do we need? What needs should be addressed

We filled out a form like this at a meeting last week and below I have typed the feedback from that meeting. I thought it might be helpful to see an example.

Where are we? What do we need? What needs to be addressed?
The art curriculum offered addresses every essential standard for visual arts 6 thru 8 to varying degrees. The essential standards for visual literacy are particularly strong while the contextual relevancy shows the weakest result.
I need the K-5 curriculum to align with the NCES to offer a base to work from.
I need to continue to familiarize myself with these standards.
I need to increase my lesson plans to address these standards focusing on areas I find to be weak.
This will be a collaborative workshop discussing different mediums and lesson plans. We will focus on the relationship to NCES. If we are all weak in the same areas, we will discuss how to change that.

3. Requests of you………………
Please send any topics you would like to bring up at this meeting, keeping in mind the goal of focusing on the NCES. I would also request that each of us bring a lesson plan that we have found to be successful. This lesson plan can be in any form. Please include 12 copies to give to the teachers.

Thank you for taking time with this and I look forward to seeing you March 8th.
